    Addicted to PLASTIC!

Man I HATE addictions!  I started working on one small easy plastic model car, and from there I was caught “hook, line, and sinker!” Now I hide my finished models in the closet, 11 and counting.  I have seems like TONS of paints in a box on the floor of my living room.  I started only buying enough paints to finish the first model car, and now I am so knowledgeable about Enamels, Acrylics, Lacquers and Varnishes not to mention learning the hard way the kinds of thinners and removers each of those kinds of colors needs to thin them out and REMOVE them that I could blog on noting but paints and paint thinners, man was that a chore!

My work area is right on the floor in front of my sofa, because, well, I was only going to work on one car, now there is no other place in the house big enough to put all my stuff.           One of the biggest problems that I had on my first car was trying to keep the windshield clean from glue.  I am an amateur, what do you expect?  My paint jobs were not coming out as smooth as I wanted, either, and I didn’t know what I was doing wrong.  What I eventually started doing was using primer on the car parts before I painted them, and sanding most of the big car parts between each coat of the primer.  I also bought some filler, so that if the model has any holes, or I made any holes in the model when I separated the pieces from the gate, I could fill them in, and sand them down.

Now my models are looking real good.  If I only could go slower, so that I don’t break any of those teeny tiny pieces with my big clumsy fingers I would be just fine.

So my addiction to plastic doesn’t look like it has any chances of ending anytime soon.  Take a look at my finished products so far, tell me what you think, and if you come across a good websites that are selling some good, cheap, and hard models, because I am graduating to harder models, please do let me know about them ok?

Should we be ashamed that we're better off than other countries?

No way!  This is AMERICA land of opportunity.  Everyone wants to come here! Material wealth gives us MORE quality of life in that when we have wealth we have freedom of choice.  Why should we as USA citizens care what other countries think of us just because of their jealousy?  They need to think of what they want for themselves and their families, band together, and move their country leaders to do better by them.  We here in the good ole USA work together all the time, and then we vote.  Now, to be truthful, a lot of times, our politicians may not always get us what we want.  We can work on our own to better our living situation in our own town or city, because guess what we’re FREE.  Why should I feel guilt every time I am approached by someone who thinks they are worse off then me?  Now I do like to assist the truly needy; however, I will help when and if I want to, but I should not be made to, or made to feel guilt to part me with my money!  Wealth not only gives us security, but it also secures the future of our children as well.  I love my country, because it gives me the freedom to work as hard as I want to in relation to how well I want to live.  Just because someone has money does not mean that our quality of life or our value they put on life has diminished, it just allows them and all of us to have more freedom of choices, and in turn less stress.
